Licensed as a Real Estate Saleperson since 1987, I decided to become licensed as an broker in 2006 in order to manage my own team within  RE/MAX Peninsula. I completed the required course work and passed the Virginia broker's state exam on real estate law.

As a Realtor® holding an associate's broker license, I am a member in good standing of the National Association of Realtors® (NAR), Virginia Association of Realtors (VAR) and the Virginia Peninsula Association of Realtors (VPAR).   All Realtors® are either real estate salespersons or brokers, but not all brokers or salespersons are Realtors®. There are 1.3 million Realtors® in the US and an additional 1 million licensed real estate agents who are not members of NAR. See twelve good reasons why you should use a Realtor®.
